Hermione rose form her table, walking slowly to the front of the great hall. Positioned herself, nodded gently to the band and cleared her throat.

Her song was sorrowful, painful to listen to, not for the notes but the sombre tone within her voice. It stilled the crowd into hushed appreciation. Staring at this small woman, eyes closed with this angelic voice echoing across the hall.

Tears began to fall down her blushing cheeks as she sang, tears of memory and of grief, though her voice did not falter. The crowd remained silenced mesmerised by the woman before them, a friend, a colleague, bearing her soul. She did not sing for them however, she only ever sang for him. She was singing for him now, though she did not know if he could hear her.
#Hallelujah, Hallelujah, hallelujah, halleluuuuuuuujah#
Her final tones were her goodbye, her release from grief.
She opened her eyes to the stilled hall. A slow clap emerged from the Slytherin table, an understanding she thought of her grief for one of their own. The single set was soon followed by a chorus from around the room; she closed her eyes once more and smiled. A true smile her first true smile since his death. He’d heard her, she knew this was his gift, his understanding that she needed to feel alive again, move past the hurt and live.

Rainbows dance in the dampened sky as she sits upon a fine woven blanket, resting against a tall oak tree with a book balanced gingerly on her lap.
She used to sit here and wait for him. It was their place. As the months passed by she came to understand that he would not be waiting nor would he come to her.
A creature of habit she still graced this spot daily however, she felt it only right, a place to think and commune with him even if he physically weren’t there.
Often tears would form in her youthful eyes as she whispered his name into the whistling winds, she still ached for him but in her mind she knew he was never coming back.
Resting her head back against the tree she gazed skyward noticing very little, her senses dulled by memory and pain. If she had not been so consumed she may have noticed the perching of a large black bird high in that very tree.

Just read an interview posted on the community alanrickman regarding a Sweeney Todd interview. He makes mention of the Harry Potter 'porn' in a rather negative manner. Now, I love Alan but I have to say he got my hackles up with this one. Declaring the world a 'weird' place and not wishing to 'encourage it'. Granted it depend on how you read really as he could simply mean fans who have approached him and done/said something he considered inappropriate but for the main part I felt like the communities were being slightly attacked by him.
I appreciate the concept is lost on many and some would consider it perverted especially where ss/hg or slash is concerned but to me fandom is a community of encouragement and fun. Writing is often about life or at the very least is inspired by life, how is life created...sex! What can we argue makes the world spin on it's lovely axis, sex! It's not a bad or dirty thing and for the most part in fandom it's not a bunch of people sitting around 'getting off' on these stories but enjoying the humour or the passion embodied in them. I know I for one have never been turned on in the literal sense by a fiction as I don't personally read them that way. I enjoy the story, looking into other peoples lives and feeling/ sensing their emotion and identifying with it, which I'm confident is a sentiment shared by many fiction writers and readers.
Fanfiction is certainly NOT a bad thing, reference to sex or not. I have been inspired to write through it and gained a major passion that I would love to work on and perhaps discipline myself enough to write my own original stories born from the practice and inspiration of fan fiction communities.
OK, I apologise for this rant, perhaps it's my tired mind but it really did annoy me and I just felt things needed to be said. Feel free to comment whether or not you agree with me, I'd be very interested to hear (read :D ) what you guys think on the subject.

Lush green fields separated only by streams of running water. The vision should provide solace and comfort. Instead dark clouds roll high above, covering the valley in deep shadow. A glint of steel pressed against pure, white, flesh releases a river of crimson. Transfixed eyes follow as it circles finger tips with comforting warmth before falling to meet the muddy pool below.
Black orbs begin to loose their shine; a proud statue shrinks to his knees in the now maroon water. A smirk crosses his grey features; red it seems is forever to be the colour of his life, his love. Knees wane against bulk, slipping their master into submersion. Soaked in memory, eyes flicker with one last chocked breath; “Finally”.

Pale fingers twitch nervously, slick with anticipation. Dark eyes smouldering, expertly disguising the fear within. Quick as a flash his opponents hand darts towards their intended target, rendering him powerless. What was he to do now? There was no where to go, he would have to accept defeat. The sickening realisation coursed through his veins ever faster as she began laughing at him. Finally she let out a deafening burst of “Check mate!” before returning to her giggles.
Oh he’d get the little witch for this! At the though an evil smirk unfolds upon his thin lips, whilst slowly clapping his opponents victory.
